Lesson 13
Hello!
Everyone knows that something exciting is coming up. Good Friday! I know that you were thinking Easter, but this is the almost the last step before Easter.
Good Friday was the day Jesus died on the cross. This time, we are not going to read this in the Bible, because for some younger kids, it could be tough, some I'm just going to tell you the simplified story.
First, when Jesus was about to die on the cross, he went up to the Garden of Gethsemane, on the Mount of Olives, to pray. When you are nervous, you sweat, right? But when Jesus was praying, he sweat blood.
Then Judas, who was one of Jesus' disciples, betrayed Jesus. And everyone who was around said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?" and one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut of his right ear. But Jesus touched the servants ear, and healed him.
Then they took Jesus to court, and he stood before Pilate. Pilate asked, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus said, "You have said so." Pilate said, "I find no guilt in this man." But the people still were against him. Then Herod and his soldiers mocked Him. Then Pilate said, "Who shall we release: Barabbas, or Jesus?" The people said, "Crucify him! Crucify him!
And they spit on him, and mocked him, and hurt him. Then still on the cross, he died.
The next day is Holy Saturday, the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. It is the day of waiting while Jesus Christ lay in the tomb.
So thats the end of the lesson! Bye!
